Energy Star - This program is a result of cooperation between industry and the US Government (through the EPA) that labels and promotes energy efficient products.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) - The EPA's mandate is to protect human health and the environment. Information can also be found detailing currentevents in energy news as well as environmental issues such as mold, waste and recycling.
Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) - This international nonprofit organization was founded to support responsible management of the world's forests. Furniture and products carrying the FSC logo guarantee that the wood is from a well managed forest that has been independently certified.
Greenguard Environmental Institute (GEI) - This industry-independent organization oversees the GREENGUARD Certification Program and also develops ANSI-Accredited Standards for indoor air quality.
HOK Sustainable Design - This organization is a design firm committed to sustainability practices and principles. Their website contains case studies and green design checklists.
InformeDesign - This research and communication tool was developed by the University of Minnesota and sponsored by the ASID. You can find extensive research on a variety of products.
Interface Sustainability - Interface is a leader in the commercial interiors market that offers floor coverings and fabrics. They are deeply committed to the goal of sustainability and ways that they can do business that minimize their impact on the environment.
McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC) - This organization is a product and process design firm dedicated to transforming the worldwide marketplace.

U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) - This organization seeks to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work. You'll also find information on their LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification program.
